Running and I have a love/hate relationship. I never really consider myself a “runner”. I grew up playing sports and anytime we have the long conditioning runs, I hated it! Once sports ended, there were no practices to attend, no games to prepare for, no sports goal to achieve. I am by nature a really competitive person, so I needed to work toward a goal to achieve. I needed to challenge myself and push my limits. That’s when I took on the challenge of running.

Running has taught me a lot of myself. It’s an individual sport that only YOU can mentally and physically push yourself. When you are in a race, you are only racing yourself. A bad day can easily be turned around with a run. You may not always have a good run, but a bad run is better than no run at all.

I have completed a bunch of 5k’s and 3 half marathons, but CABOT’S VIRTUAL RACE is one I am super excited about.

One lucky participant will be randomly selected to have Cabot donate $1,200 in their name to a local food bank—that’s $1 for each of Cabot’s 1,200 farm family owners. How awesome is that!?

Disclaimer: By being a team leader for Cabot’s virtual race, my registration fee was paid for, received a $100 donation in my name to a local food bank of my choice, and was able to provide awesome RDelcious Kitchen readers with a Cabot Legacy gift basket. I was not compensated to write this post, all opinions expressed here are my own.
